Terms of Service

Last updated: September 22, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ReMatter mobile application (“the app”). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own use, in accordance with these Terms and the terms of the store you installed it from (the Google Play Terms of Service or the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions).

Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law, and not to use it to store or process data you do not have the right to handle.

Paid features

The app is free to use with a library of up to 10 codes. ReMatter Pro, a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase, removes that limit and unlocks one-tap provisioning and other extras. Backup & Restore and the printable QR sheet are free. This purchase is processed by the store you bought it from and is tied to that store account: your Google Play account on Android, or your Apple Account on iPhone. You can restore it on a new device by signing in with the same account and tapping Restore purchase. A purchase made on one store does not carry over to the other. Refunds are handled under that store’s refund policy.

Early access codes that we give to beta testers are Google Play promo codes. A redeemed code works the same way as a purchase of ReMatter Pro and is tied to the Google account that redeemed it. We give out a fixed number of codes, one per email address, while they last.

Apple App Store

If you installed the app from the Apple App Store, the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Your data and backups

ReMatter stores your archived Matter codes locally on your device (see our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for creating and safeguarding your own backups. We cannot recover data that is lost because no backup was made, or because a backup file was deleted or became inaccessible.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that archived codes will successfully re-commission any particular device — commissioning depends on the device, your network, and the platform’s Matter implementation, which are outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReMatter and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
